The Vocal Jazz Session with Joanna Eden
Twickenham Jazz Club, TW1 3SZ , [Venue Details]Step into an intimate evening with Joanna Eden, the soulful singer-pianist whose voice resonates with poetry, warmth—and a touch of English charm that only she could bring.
Based in Essex, Joanna’s career spans six captivating solo albums, weaving jazz, bossa nova, blues, and soul into beautifully crafted songs filled with personal stories and expressive lyrics.
“Melody, mystery and bite.” — Mojo Magazine
“The UK’s answer to Diana Krall and Norah Jones.” — Time Out
Joanna first tumbled into the world of music as a girl of seven, composing her own songs before she could even write, and later shaping her musical craft with a BA in Creative Arts. Over two decades, she has shared stages (and hearts) with legends like Van Morrison, Jamie Cullum, and Buena Vista Social Club. And if that wasn’t impressive enough—she mentored Sam Smith for almost a decade and is affectionately referred to by him as “the reason I sing.”
Her most recent album, The Road to Paysandú, released in May 2025, blends jazz, soul, and Latin rhythms into an evocative musical journey inspired by her travels and personal stories.
This evening’s quartet features Joanna herself on vocals and piano, supported by the reliable groove of André Lafone on double bass and George Double on drums, promising a night where music becomes heartfelt conversation.
